ISFJ: Contradicting Traits
Here are the contradicting traits of an ISFJ...
Caring yet Bossy
The ISFJ is a highly loving, caring individual. However, their rigid standards for routines and morals can make them highly demanding of others.
Thoughtful yet Clueless
The ISFJ knows the likes and dislikes of their friends. They often surprise them with gifts and kind gestures. Yet at times the ISFJ can be incredibly clueless to things which seem obvious to others. For instance, the ISFJ does not recognize sarcasm.
Timid yet Talkative
The ISFJ may seem quite bashful at times. They blush frequently and may fall silent if they are embarrassed. However, around their family, friends, and most strangers, the ISFJ is normally very bubbly, buoyant, and talkative. This is due to their auxiliary Extroverted Feeling trait.
Practical yet Hypersensitive
The ISFJ is highly practical. They are good with day to day chores such as grocery shopping and balancing a checkbook. They are also quite gifted with issuing practical care. This gives the ISFJ the appearance of being logical and levelheaded. However, the ISFJ actually responds quite emotionally to many situations, at which time they will forget logic and reason and only consider their feelings.
Giving yet Stubborn
The ISFJ is often very self-sacrificing and noble. They'd give you the shirt of their back. Yet cross if one of their standards, you'd better take a few steps back. The ISFJ can become quite ruthless when defending their rules.
Level Headed yet Freaks Out
The ISFJ is, on average, quite amazing in a crisis situation. They have the ability to think clearly during a time-sensitive crisis, and quickly see the most practical result. However, when an ISFJ is emotionally close to any given situation, they can quickly lose their cool.
Proud yet Low Ego
The ISFJ has a lot of pride. They would never want to be seen doing anything degrading. They usually are aware of their own value and feel pride in it. However, the ISFJ will undersell themselves in many ways. They second guess their achievements and have several (poorly) hidden insecurities.
Follower yet Control Freak
Most ISFJs would call themselves followers, not leaders. They are uncomfortable with leadership and do not consider themselves very gifted in that area. Yet however much the ISFJ may call themselves a follower, they have a burning desire to have things done their way.
All in all, the ISFJ has much to offer the world using their positive traits. It is good to be aware of one's tendencies toward contradicting traits, as this allows for growth and health.
This is a great one I would like to see one for the ISTP type.
